How do I practice fast typing?

HERE ARE THE ONLY THREE THINGS YOU NEED TO DO :

1. Ratatype — Online Typing Tutor and Typing Lessons : You can make an account which will help you keep track of your growth. It's beautiful and at the same time short. For further practice, we shall look at point number 2.

2. Typing.com - The Web's Most Popular Typing Tutor : Make an account here too. I couldn't recommend it more. Stay sequential through the beginner and the intermediate material. After that you can fluctuate between advanced and story-typing lessons. By this time your speed will hit the world average of 42 words per minute. You will, it's that powerful!

N.B. : The above two websites have slightly different finger-to-key presses when it comes to number line above the top row of keypad. Follow Ratatype, it's better!

By this time, you will know all the important things like going back to the home row after each key press and so on... Lastly,

3.  TypeRacer - the global typing competition : Practice. You will also come across some awesome quotes from movies, books, and famous men.

These days I regularly type on "Type Fu" (an offline typing app on the chrome webstore), fifteen to thirty minutes here and there. But it's paid now. Still deserves a mention for the great proverbs and quotes that it provides.

When I started I was typing at 44 wpm, but it was all peek and type mixed with a little habit. So, I had to unlearn that first. If I can do that and then achieve a consistent 70 wpm in three weeks, imagine what you can do!

One more thing,  Focus on accuracy. Speed will come overtime.

Consistency will reward you with the momentum and in just two weeks you will amaze yourself with this new found skill which only gets better with time.

Small investment, HUGE rewards! What are you waiting for?
